Hitachi Energy USA Inc. is seeking an experienced ESG Regulatory Compliance Specialist to join our team in the North American region. As a key member of our Global Competency Center in the Legal and Integrity business function, you will be responsible for supporting corporate ESG and Product Regulatory Compliance roadmaps, monitoring and interpreting ESG and Product Material Compliance related regulations, and advising on compliance requirements.

Your Responsibilities:
  • Support the development and implementation of ESG and Product Regulatory Compliance strategies and roadmaps.
  • Monitor and interpret ESG and Product Material Compliance related regulations and advise on compliance requirements.
  • Prioritize and manage compliance risks, advising on consequences and enabling risk management.
  • Align local and regional approaches with global processes and requirements, ensuring consistent implementation.
  • Drive and guide legal responses to officials, coordinate with business and functional stakeholders.
  • Provide guidance and conduct training to internal stakeholders on ESG and Product Material Compliance regulations.
  • Drive compliance-related projects cross-functionally.
  • Embed compliance, recording, and declarations into existing processes and tools.
  • Support the establishment of new or improvement of existing processes for ESG Regulatory and Product Material Compliance.
  • Proactively identify and resolve compliance-related issues and challenges.
Your Background:
  • J.D. from an American Bar Association accredited law school and bar admission in a U.S. State Bar, with a minimum of 8-10 years' experience with ESG regulations, focusing on environmental regulations.
  • Workable knowledge in Chemistry, Materials, or Engineering.
  • Candidate must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States.
  • Excellent communication skills on all managerial and executive levels in a complex matrix organization, ability to work and report remotely, open-minded and dynamic attitude to changes; intercultural sensitivity.
  • Several years of experience in working in or with multinational enterprises with large matrix organizations.
  • Experience in Project Management and managing external Consultants and law firms.
  • Sound knowledge of Microsoft Office tools and ERP systems (SAP).
  • Hands-on and problem-solving mentality to challenge the status quo.
  • Willingness to develop the role and scope considering evolving regulatory environments.

Fluent English, other languages an asset. Willingness to travel (10-20%).
