Job Summary

Vancouver Coastal Health is seeking an experienced Analyst/Administrative Assistant to join the Regional Medical Imaging Team.

This role will provide analytical support to the designated leadership, including data analysis, statistical reporting, and benchmarking activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide confidential administrative and secretarial assistance to the Executive Director or Director, as well as the designated senior leadership teams.
  • Maintain the leadership appointment calendars, coordinate meetings, and process and prioritize the flow of information through the department.
  • Work independently and interface with other Executive Directors, Directors, Managers, and staff at all levels of the organization.
  • Effectively partner with other VCH departments, such as the Data and Analytics team, and liaise on behalf of the department with external agencies.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Diploma in a related program.
  • Three to four (3-4) years' recent, related experience in a complex healthcare environment with progressively more responsible secretarial and administrative positions supporting senior-level management.
  • Advanced computer skills in spreadsheet, database, graphics, and word processing programs, including Microsoft Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Word, and Visio.

Knowledge & Abilities

  • Employs expertise in the use of computer software and applications to create a variety of analytical reports, documents, and presentations, and to maintain databases.
  • Applies acquired skills and knowledge to efficiently and independently resolve administrative issues/problems.
  • Effectively utilizes both verbal and written communication skills when providing advice or information or seeking/acquiring information.
  • Develops and maintains strong relationships with key internal and external partners to promote and enhance services provided with sensitivity to diversity and an indigenous lens.
  • Practices the recognition, inclusion, and support of all types and aspects of diversity at all stages of engagement, with an understanding of the issues faced by people from equity-deserving groups.
  • Optimizes departmental effectiveness and contributes to organizational success by applying excellent time management skills to prioritize and complete assignments and schedule activities.
  • Practices diligence and care when maintaining, monitoring, calculating, and summarizing data, records, and budget information.
