Deep Sky Climate - Instrumentation and Controls Engineer

Deep Sky Climate is a pioneering company in the field of carbon removal, and we're seeking an experienced Instrumentation and Controls Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our engineering team, you will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and optimizing electrical and control systems for our cutting-edge Deep Sky Labs testing facility.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop instrumentation and control systems for Direct Air Capture (DAC) operations, ensuring compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.
  • Work closely with our software teams to enable the collection of data for aggregation and generation of a carbon credit.
  • Monitor and analyze system performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing enhancements to instrumentation and control systems.
  • Prepare technical documentation, including system designs, wiring diagrams, equipment lists, commissioning lists, and operation manuals.
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to junior engineers and technicians.
Requirements:
  • In-depth knowledge of various sensors and meters used in industrial processes.
  • Familiarity with calibration procedures and standards.
  • Experience in designing and implementing control systems.
  • Understanding of data acquisition and analysis for process optimization.
  • Knowledge of safety standards and protocols in industrial settings.
  • Problem-solving skills for addressing issues related to sensor malfunctions or inaccuracies.
  • Collaboration skills for working with other engineering disciplines and project stakeholders.
  • Bachelor's degree in mechatronics, mechanical engineering, control systems engineering, or related fields. A Master's degree or higher is preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical and instrumentation engineering, with a strong preference for experience in the chemical process industry, renewable energy, or environmental technology sectors.
