About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Administrative Professional to join our team. As the go-to person for your team, you will be responsible for providing guidance and support to keep them organized. Your duties will include drafting correspondence, managing documents in our document system, office and file organization, preparation of accounts, coordinating and scheduling meetings, calendar management, and leveraging technology to provide exceptional client service.

Civil Litigation Support:

You will also provide support for all tasks related to Civil Litigation procedures, including drafting court documents and pleadings, motions, affidavits of service, court searches, scheduling various applications and questionings, pre-trial and trial preparation, as well as managing limitation systems. This includes supporting tasks related to filing with the Ontario Labour Relations Board.

Your Background:

You have a proven track record as a key resource in your successful legal career. With a Legal Assistant Diploma and a minimum of five to seven years of Employment and Labour related experience, you have a strong foundation in dealing with the Human Rights Tribunal, Ontario Labour Relations Board, and Employment Tribunals. You possess strong litigation experience, including knowledge of the Rules of Civil Procedure and processes of the Superior Court, Court of Appeal, and Supreme Court of Canada. Knowledge of Ministry of Labour and WSIB procedures is an asset.

Key Qualifications:

  • Degree or diploma in a relevant field (e.g., Business Administration, Office Management)
  • A minimum of 5-7 years of experience in administrative roles within a law firm or similar industry
  • Strong administrative, organizational, and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Familiarity with document management software (e.g., Desksite, IntApp, 3E)
