About the Position

We are seeking a highly skilled Auditor and Reviewer of Police Investigative Files to join our team at the City of Kelowna. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with experience in auditing and reviewing operational files, particularly in a police environment.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting quality assurance audits of police investigational files, identifying accurate and detailed classification of file scoring as required by Canadian Centre for Justice Statistics (CCJS), and providing guidance, feedback, and corrective direction as needed to ensure file integrity.

Main Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough reviews of police investigational files to ensure compliance with legal obligations and policy requirements.
  • Analyze information, identify deficiencies, and request corrective action to be taken.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts in Operational Statistical Reporting (OSR) and Uniform Crime Reporting (UCR).
  • Utilize expertise in PRIME database to search for statistical data required to accurately classify and capture information.
  • Coaching RCMP cadets on quality assurance issues and assisting in identifying training requirements.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of Federal, Provincial, and Municipal statutes, Access to Information (ATIP), and databases such as PRIME, JUSTIN, and CPIC.
  • Experience working in a police environment, preferably with knowledge of operational policies and procedures.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain an Enhanced RCMP Security Clearance.
Work Environment and Benefits

This is a full-time position, Monday to Friday, 7 hours per day, with flexible hours available. The successful candidate will have access to a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision coverage, as well as a pension plan.

Estimated Salary Range

$72,000 - $84,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience.
