Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Academic Support Specialist to join our team. As an Academic Support Specialist, you will provide one-on-one academic support to students based on their individual needs and learning styles. Your expertise and knowledge of the Ontario curriculum will be essential in helping our students achieve their academic goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide academic support to students in a one-on-one setting
  • Develop and implement personalized learning plans to meet the needs of each student
  • Communicate regularly with parents and guardians to discuss student progress and provide updates
  • Collaborate with other educators and support staff to ensure a comprehensive and supportive learning environment

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • A strong background in education and teaching
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficient in spoken and written English

Qualifications and Skills

We are looking for candidates who meet the following criteria:

  • Hold a registration in good standing with the Ontario College of Teachers
  • Qualified to teach at a school in a Canadian Province/Territory outside of Ontario
  • Qualified to teach at a school in the United States
  • Current teacher candidate; pursuing a bachelor of education in Canada
  • Experience as a lecturer/course instructor at an accredited Canadian University or College
  • Experience as a teacher in a Canadian Elementary or High School
