The base salary for this position is estimated at $120,000 per year, determined by factors such as education, training, years of experience, and internal equity.

Job Description

As a Superintendent - Special Projects, you will collaborate and lead teams to deliver quality projects on time and within budget. This role requires travel to multiple sites across the City of Vancouver and involves supervising construction activities, ensuring project compliance with drawings, specifications, and schedules.

You will partner with the management team and subcontractors to maintain construction schedules and resolve problems as necessary. Establishing positive relationships with stakeholders, including the community, is crucial for success.

Key Responsibilities:
  • On-site supervision and coordination of trades
  • Collaborative style, coordinating and supervising construction activities
  • Ensuring project compliance with drawings, specifications, project schedule, and budget
  • Partnering with management team and subcontractors to maintain construction schedule and identify/resolve problems
  • Establishing and maintaining positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Developing recovery strategies when project schedule or budgets are in jeopardy
Requirements and Qualifications

This role requires at least 5+ years of experience working on residential, institutional, or commercial projects up to $10 million. Exterior or Building Envelope experience is considered an asset.

A technical diploma or equivalent combination of technical training and experience is required. Strong relationship and team building skills, proven integrity dealing with clients, trades, and consultants, and thorough knowledge of construction aspects are essential.

  • Proven creative problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills, including translating technical information to non-technical individuals
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Procore
