The base salary for this position is competitive and will be determined by factors including education, training, years of experience, and internal equity.

Job Summary:

This is an exciting opportunity for a highly skilled Construction Management Professional to join our team as Superintendent, Special Projects. Reporting directly to the Director of Field Operations, you will lead teams to execute and deliver quality projects on time and on budget. This role may require travel to and supervision of multiple sites across the City of Vancouver.

You will be responsible for overseeing on-site supervision and coordination of trades for various projects across the City. With your collaborative style, you will coordinate and supervise all construction activities on site, ensuring projects are constructed according to drawings, specifications, project schedule, and budget.

  • Partner with the management team, including Project Managers and subcontractors, to maintain construction schedules and identify/resolve problems as necessary.
  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including the community.
  • Develop recovery strategies when project schedules or budgets are at risk.
  • Review and update project schedules, cost forecasts, and cash flow with Project Managers.
  • Maintain accurate field documentation, including safety records, progress reports, rental logs, etc.
  • Provide leadership to peers, ensuring all site staff adhere to the company's safety culture.
  • Organize weekly subcontractor meetings.
  • Supervise, mentor, coach, and train project personnel.

To succeed in this role, you will require:

  • At least 5+ years of experience working on residential, institutional, or commercial projects up to $10 million.
  • Exterior or Building Envelope experience is considered an asset.
  • A technical diploma or equivalent combination of technical training and experience.
  • Strong relationship-building and team management skills, with proven integrity when dealing with clients, trades, and consultants.
  • Thorough knowledge of construction aspects, including technology, equipment, methods, trade agreements, jurisdiction, engineering, cost control, drawings, specifications, procedures, scheduling, and safety requirements.
  • Proven creative problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to effectively translate technical information to non-technical individuals.
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Procore.

Estimated Salary: $120,000 - $150,000 per year.
