Job SummaryAs the Senior Superintendent, reporting to the Director of Construction, you will oversee the execution and delivery of quality projects on time and within budget. With at least 8+ years of experience in commercial and residential projects exceeding $40 million, you will be responsible for providing overall supervision, coordination, and scheduling of construction activities for our new Marriott hotel project in Downtown Vancouver.
Main Responsibilities- Coordinate and supervise all construction activities on site, fostering a collaborative environment.
- Ensure projects are constructed according to drawings, specifications, project schedule, and budget.
- Maintain accurate construction schedules and identify/resolve problems in a timely manner.
- Develop positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including the community.
- Create project master schedules with the project team and ensure subcontractors adhere to these schedules.
- Review and update schedules, cost forecasts, and cash flow with the Project Manager.
- Maintain essential field documentation, including safety records, progress reports, rental logs, etc.
- Organize and lead weekly subcontractor meetings.
- Supervise, mentor, coach, and train project personnel.
- Participate in client interviews to secure new business opportunities.
- Promote Metro-Can Construction at company-sponsored and industry events.
- Stay informed about market trends and developments to maintain our competitive advantage and develop effective bid strategies.

To be successful in this role, you will need:
- At least 8+ years of experience working on large-scale commercial and residential projects, with a spend of $40 million or more.
- Demonstrated ability to successfully supervise and execute complex construction projects.
- A technical diploma or equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Excellent relationship-building skills, with a strong focus on client relationships.
- Knowledge of Lean construction principles and a willingness to apply them.
- Thorough understanding of construction aspects, including technology, equipment, methods, trade agreements, jurisdiction, engineering, cost control, drawings, specifications, procedures, scheduling, and safety requirements.
- Proven creative problem-solving skills.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook, with Procore being an asset.
- Excellent communication skills, enabling you to effectively convey technical information to non-technical individuals.
The salary range for this position is approximately $100,000-$120,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience.
