About the Opportunity

The Imaging Technologist is a key member of our diagnostic imaging team, responsible for delivering high-quality patient care while operating radiological equipment with minimal supervision. This role requires independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative to perform various diagnostic or therapeutic procedures that involve ionizing radiation, applying the ALARA principle at all times.

The successful candidate will be responsive to each patient in their care, fostering a culture of safety within the workplace. Effective communication in a multidisciplinary environment is crucial for success in this position.

About You

We are looking for a qualified individual with the following qualifications:

  • A graduate of an accredited School of Radiological Technology
  • Certification from the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT)
  • Licensure from the Nova Scotia College of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy Professionals (NSCMIRTP)
  • Previous experience in diagnostic imaging is an asset
  • Ability to work independently and under minimal supervision
  • Possession of the physical capabilities required to perform the duties of the position
  • Demonstrated initiative, organizational, and prioritizing skills, as well as the ability to work collaboratively within inter-professional teams
  • Comprehension of technical language to review and use manuals, and participate in relevant discussions
Compensation and Benefits

This casual relief position offers a competitive hourly rate of $30.83-$37.54, depending on experience. Shift work, including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays, is required. Rotation to other areas within Central Zone Diagnostic Imaging may be necessary.
