This position is perfect for individuals who excel in a fast-paced setting and are passionate about staying up-to-date with industry standards and new technologies. You will work closely with our team to ensure that all repairs and maintenance activities are completed efficiently and effectively.
In this role, you will be responsible for conducting thorough inspections and preventative maintenance checks, prioritizing safe operation. You will also perform annual safety inspections as part of the Commercial Vehicle Inspection Program, where applicable. Additionally, you will skillfully install and remove Natural Gas Vehicle (NGV) systems, adhering to strict government and company standards.
You will manage and maintain detailed records of all repairs and work orders for compliance and efficiency. You will also coordinate parts acquisition directly with suppliers or through company stores. Engaging in continuous learning to stay informed of industry standards and new technologies is essential in this role.
To succeed in this position, you should possess a Journeyperson Certificate in Heavy Equipment Technician from a recognized Apprenticeship Program for on-road and off-road. A Class driver's license with air brake endorsement is preferred, with the ability to obtain an in-house Operator's Certificate. You should also be proficient in computer skills and have a working knowledge with diagnostic equipment.
A strong communication skills, technical aptitude, and a commitment to professional development are necessary for success in this role. The ability to work in various weather conditions and participate in shift schedules and emergency callouts is also required. This is a Safety-Sensitive position, subject to pre-employment Alcohol & Drug tests as per company policy.
