Contract Administrator

We are seeking a highly skilled Contract Administrator to join our team at COB_4228 Bird General Contractors Ltd. as a key member of our operations team.
Key Responsibilities- Administer contracts with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and suppliers, ensuring timely and accurate execution.
- Conduct thorough reviews of construction schedules and provide contributions to project teams.
- Develop and maintain a register of key contract risks and obligations.
- Examine the main contract to identify obligations, responsibilities, and highlight risks.
- Manage contract administration processes and results.
- Provide interpretation of the main contract language.
- Develop contract management activities to ensure compliance with the main contract.
- Manage contract reporting activities, identify, and track deliverables.
- Identify and mitigate/prevent/resolve high-risk or high-cost issues for Bird.
- Develop correspondence with clients to request necessary changes and modifications to meet project requirements.
- Participate in negotiations regarding changes.
- Ensure accurate and timely contract correspondence.
- Develop and implement change management procedures and track contract and subcontract modifications.
- Negotiate change orders, variations, and change issues.
- Prepare narratives and justification documents.
- Avoid and manage claims, including preparing claim submissions.
- Analyze subcontractor and supplier offers.
- Negotiate subcontracts and purchase orders.
- Manage subcontracts and purchase orders, including resolving contract issues, administration, revising change rights, and other tasks necessary to support successful subcontract and purchase order administration.
- Maintain excellent relationships with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and the public.
- Train staff on implementing contract processes and procedures, as well as contract requirements and obligations.
- Ensure liaison with project teams on various matters as needed. Provide quarterly reports to district management and the risk management group on best practices in commercial management, based on execution of responsibilities.
- Develop and implement best practices and policies at the district and company level.
- Present regular information sessions on key commercial management principles and lessons learned to district members.
- Conduct monthly reviews and reports of potential claims and opportunities with the vice-president and district manager.
- Examine all bonds and insurance.
- Support project prospecting and estimating teams.
- Develop qualifications for bids and requests for proposals (RFPs).
- University degree or diploma in construction management or a related field.
- More than 8 years of leadership experience in the construction industry.
- Strong experience in contract management.
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, MS Project, and Primavera P6.
- Excellent financial and digital management skills.
- Practical knowledge of contract language and legal contract requirements.
- Ability to inspire confidence in difficult situations by instilling trust and involving affected individuals in matters that affect them.
- Ability to establish, develop, and maintain positive relationships.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously and respond to unpredictable activity time requirements. Ability to manage pressure and challenges.
- Ability to work under tight deadlines and prioritize work to meet them.
- Strong project management, organizational, and investigative skills.
- Highly developed critical thinking, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent presentation skills, with the ability to simplify complex concepts.
- Highly developed interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Demonstrate a strong sense of urgency and commitment to achieving objectives. Ability to work in a stimulating and fast-paced environment.
