Role Overview



We are seeking a skilled Mental Health Therapist to join our multidisciplinary team at the Edmonton North Primary Care Network. As a Primary Care Specialist, you will work collaboratively with healthcare professionals to provide high-quality psychotherapeutic services to patients aged 14 and above.



Salary and Benefits

The successful candidate can expect a competitive salary range of $52,700 to $69,400 per annum, based on experience. In addition, we offer an excellent benefits package, including extended health and dental coverage, pension plan, and generous paid time off.



Job Description

As a Mental Health Therapist, your key responsibilities will include:




  • Providing mental health assessments and individual psychotherapy using evidence-based treatment modalities
  • Developing and implementing treatment plans in collaboration with clients and other healthcare professionals
  • Maintaining accurate records and communicating effectively with clients, physicians, and other stakeholders
  • Facilitating group training and supporting the development of health promotion programs
  • Collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to ensure seamless care delivery


Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you must possess a Master's degree in psychology, Counselling, or Social Work (clinical specialization). You should also have active professional registration and good standing with CAP or an accredited Association under the Health Professions Act.



A minimum of three years' experience providing individual and group therapy in a community agency is required. Cultural competence and experience working with diverse cultural backgrounds and related language needs are essential.



Additional training in modalities such as EMDR would be an asset. Working knowledge of the DSM-5, trauma-informed care, and concurrent disorders is also desirable.
