Job Description

The Crystal Ladder Learning Centre is seeking a highly skilled Speech-Language Pathologist to join our team of dedicated professionals.

About the Role:

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify communication needs and develop personalized treatment plans.
  • Provide individualized speech therapy sessions and group sessions during designated periods.
  • Collaborate with a team of Communicative Disorders Assistants to facilitate treatment sessions and implement augmentative alternative communication devices.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with parents and caregivers to ensure effective communication and progress updates.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to the development of individualized education plans.
  • Provide consultation and training to other professionals on the use of augmentative alternative communication devices.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices in speech-language pathology.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct assessments, develop recommendations, and write reports.
  • Develop treatment plans and provide therapy as clinically recommended.
  • Meet with parents to keep them informed on progress/updates regarding the SLP intervention and to address any concerns.
  • Work with administration to ensure that all learners receive their weekly speech sessions.
  • Plan for seasonal camps during designated periods.
  • Provide parent training as clinically recommended to facilitate carryover and generalization.
  • Participate in team meetings, discussions, and collaborate on an interdisciplinary team.
  • Implement, troubleshoot, and support augmentative alternative communication devices.

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
  • Valid license or eligibility for licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology related to speech-language pathology.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with patients of all ages.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
