Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Legal Advisor to join our Legal & Risk Management team. As a trusted advisor, you will provide legal expertise to support the success of our operations across a broad range of practice areas.
Key Responsibilities
- Work closely with business units to provide counsel and support in a broad range of practice areas, including corporate law, commercial law, and regulatory compliance.
- Conduct legal research and provide advice to various department heads and executives on complex legal issues.
- Identify legal issues, research and analyze complicated situations, and develop practical solutions in an efficient and timely manner.
- Work closely with MNP's practitioners to proactively identify and manage legal risk, ensuring that our clients receive the best possible advice and service.
- Work closely with outside counsel and manage all stages of litigation, including negotiation and dispute resolution.
- Assist in the review and maintenance of corporate policies, ensuring that they are up-to-date and compliant with relevant laws and regulations.
- Draft concise and effective legal documents, including contracts, agreements, and other business-related documents.
- Develop working relationships with a variety of stakeholders, including clients, colleagues, and outside counsel.
- Write briefs on regulations, legal/compliance matters, and other ad hoc legal issues to defend legal position and provide guidance to team.
- Develop a thorough understanding of MNP's services, businesses, and industry, and contribute to the development of new ideas and approaches to improve work processes.
- Raise awareness of MNP at community events and contribute to the development of business development strategies.
Requirements
- 2 to 4 years post-call experience in a similar role.
- Demonstrated ability to identify legal issues, research and analyze complicated situations, and develop practical solutions.
- Customer service driven and able to work effectively in a team environment.
