Retail Store Supervisor Job Description
At Canada Inc., we are seeking a highly skilled Retail Store Supervisor to join our team. As a key member of our retail operations team, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily activities of our retail store, ensuring excellent customer service, and driving sales growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of sales staff, ensuring excellent customer service and a positive shopping experience.
- Assign sales workers to duties, ensuring that the store is adequately staffed and that customers receive prompt assistance.
- Hire and train new staff members, or arrange for their training, to ensure that they have the necessary skills to perform their duties effectively.
- Authorize payments by cheque, ensuring that all financial transactions are accurate and up-to-date.
- Order merchandise, ensuring that the store is well-stocked and that customers have access to a wide range of products.
- Authorize the return of merchandise, ensuring that customers are satisfied with their purchases and that the store's inventory is managed effectively.
- Establish work schedules, ensuring that the store is adequately staffed at all times and that employees have a fair and reasonable workload.
- Sell merchandise, ensuring that customers are satisfied with their purchases and that the store meets its sales targets.
- Prepare reports on sales volumes, merchandising, and personnel matters, providing valuable insights to management and informing business decisions.
- Resolve issues that may arise, including customer complaints, supply shortages, and other operational challenges.
- Organize and maintain inventory, ensuring that the store is well-stocked and that customers have access to a wide range of products.
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of workers, ensuring that they are working efficiently and effectively.
Requirements:
- 3-4 years of experience in a retail management role.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and to multitask effectively.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
