Job Summary

Zurich Canada is seeking a strategic and visionary Head of Operations to oversee all operational functions within our Middle Market Business Unit.

This role requires a deep understanding of the middle market segment, exceptional operational management skills, and a proven record of driving performance excellence.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Operational Planning and Performance: Lead and manage operational aspects, including business performance and reporting, to ensure alignment with business goals and objectives.
  2. Strategic Planning and Execution: Collaborate with senior leaders to develop and execute the strategic plan for the business unit, identifying emerging risks and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  3. Product and Value Proposition: Manage the product and value proposition roadmap, collaborating with business unit leaders to ensure successful launch and adoption of new initiatives.
  4. Talent Development: Identify skill gaps and implement training programs to upskill the team.
  5. Stakeholder Management: Build strong relationships with key stakeholders, including broker partners and internal teams, to ensure seamless collaboration and communication.
Requirements

Required:

  1. Bachelor's Degree and 10 or more years of experience in the Underwriting area.
  2. 3 or more years of people management experience.

Preferred:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, or related field.
  2. Proven experience in leading and managing large-scale projects and initiatives.
  3. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make data-driven decisions.
  4. Experience in developing and upskilling teams to achieve high performance.
  5. Knowledge of regulatory requirements and compliance standards.
  6. Proficiency in project management tools and methodologies.
  7. Change management experience.
