We are seeking a Support Specialist to join our team on a casual basis. As a Support Specialist, you will play a vital role in supporting students with diverse needs in our schools.
Key Responsibilities- Provide individualized support to students with diverse needs, including those with physical, emotional, or learning disabilities.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, educational assistants, and other support staff to develop and implement individualized support plans.
- Assist students with daily living skills, such as personal care, meal preparation, and mobility.
- Support students in accessing the curriculum and participating in classroom activities.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff to ensure seamless support.
- Post-secondary education in a related field, such as education, social work, or a related field.
- Experience working with students with diverse needs, preferably in an educational setting.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Physical ability to perform the duties of the role, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
