The Opportunity:


Barminco Mining Services Canada Ltd. has an exciting opportunity for a skilled Jumbo Offsider to join our team at a renowned underground mine.



  • Rotation: 14-shifts on / 14-days off
  • Shifts are days and nights.
  • Open to residents of the region

As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for assisting the Jumbo Drill Operator with site prep, materials handling and other duties as required.


This role requires the successful candidate to be fit for duty and ready to work hard in a physically demanding environment.


Major responsibilities include:



  • Handling materials such as ore samples and drilling tools
  • Assisting with production sample collection
  • Assisting with ground support installation
  • Assisting with installation of services as required
  • Operating an underground integrated tool carrier
  • Driving trucks as required
  • Maintaining ground support areas
  • Assisting with mine pump maintenance

Requirements:



  • Minimum high-school diploma or equivalent
  • Commitment to working safely while ensuring the safety of others
  • Experience working in an underground mine
  • Underground Hard Rock Miner Common Core preferred
  • Previous experience as a Jumbo Offsider would be an asset
  • Valid driver's license
  • Be flexible and willing to assist with a variety of tasks as required
  • Ability to learn new tasks quickly
  • Strong communications, organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work in a cross-cultural environment
