The Opportunity:

Barminco Mining Services Canada Ltd. has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Underground Shift Supervisor to join our team at the Hemlo Operations near Marathon, Ontario.

Working a rotation of 14-shifts on and 14-days off Shifts are days and nights This position is a drive-in/drive-out or fly-in/fly-out role if you reside outside the Marathon/Manitouwadge Ontario area.

Reporting to the Mine Foreman the successful candidate will be responsible for their safety and the safety of their co-workers while supervising underground production & development mining crews to achieve rapid development targets of the mine plan.

More specifically, our Underground Shift Supervisor will:

Comply with all safety and standard operating procedures by being a positive safety leader to prioritize Safe Production; Provide front-line supervision of day-to-day activities, motivate, and provide feedback to workers on the production and development crews; Coordinate jumbo activities, managing the bolt, screen and boring process, which is all completed by the jumbo; Coordinate mucking, drilling, hauling operations to maintain productivity and deliver on client and company KPIs; Conduct safety interactions and administration on a daily basis, mentoring the workforce in best practices, driving positive standards; Handover completed development drifts to the production team for stoping activities; Collaborate with the various departments to improve working conditions and increase productivity; Facilitate the new technologies and work practices being implemented at Hemlo; Write production reports; Lead crew line-up meetings;

Skills and Experience:

Commitment to working safely while ensuring the safety of others; Minimum High School diploma or equivalency; Minimum 5-10 years of underground mining experience; Minimum 3-5 years in a supervisory role; Rapid development mining experience is an asset, bolt/mesh/drill cycle with jumbo; Underground Hard Rock Mining Supervisory Common Core; Strong communication, organizational and time management skills; Ability to work in a cross-cultural environment;
