Senior Archaeologist

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Archaeologist and Indigenous Relations Specialist to join our team in BC. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading archaeological field programs, consulting with Indigenous communities, and developing project proposals.
Key Responsibilities- Lead archaeological field programs, including consultation with Indigenous communities
- Develop project proposals and business development activities
- Write technical archaeological assessment reports
- Assist with project budgeting and scheduling
- Evaluate the effectiveness of archaeological programs
- Consult with Indigenous Peoples and communities on archaeology projects
- Work with multi-disciplinary teams to develop archaeological and Indigenous consultation strategies
- Lead Indigenous relations engagement activities
- Manage relationships with clients and Indigenous communities
- Bachelor's degree and/or technical diploma in archaeology
- 6 years of relevant experience
- Must be able to hold a permit to complete archaeological assessments in one or more B.C. Culture Areas
- Experience with Indigenous consultation and engagement in B.C.
- Valid class 5 driver's license
- 8+ years of relevant experience
- Existing relationships with Indigenous communities in B.C.
- Acknowledge of the unique historical, contemporary, cultural, and traditional characteristics of Indigenous communities in B.C.
- Experience working on large infrastructure projects in B.C.
- Experience coordinating with socio-economic, land resource use studies and Indigenous Knowledge studies
- Experience in business and client development
