Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Residential Care Assistant to join our team at the Mon Sheong Foundation. As a key member of our housekeeping department, you will play a vital role in maintaining a safe, aesthetically pleasing, and comfortable environment for our residents, staff, and visitors.

Main Responsibilities

  1. Clean and maintain offices, washrooms, and other areas on the ground floor and basement, adhering to high standards of cleanliness and safety.
  2. Scrub windows daily in the lobby according to a predetermined schedule.
  3. Perform daily lobby floor tile scrubbing and dust furniture to ensure a clean and welcoming atmosphere.
  4. Clean staff lockers, washrooms, volunteer, and staff lounges, as well as receive and deliver inventory to designated storage areas.
  5. Handle garbage duties three times a week, including collecting and disposing of trash, recycling items, and cleaning the garbage room as needed.
  6. Polymerize floors in dining, therapy, activity, examination rooms, and public areas on the ground floor, as well as in resident rooms, following assigned schedules.
  7. Carpet shampoo corridors, foyer, and office spaces per assigned schedule.
  8. Assist with setup and cleanup during special events or functions.
  9. Clean and shampoo upholstered furniture per assigned schedule.
  10. In winter, shovel snow from gardens when necessary.
  11. Maintain staircases by sweeping and mopping regularly per assigned schedule.
  12. Vacuum carpets in resident rooms, corridors, and offices per assigned schedule.
  13. Clean wheelchairs per assigned schedule.
  14. Monitor supply stock levels and report any shortages.
  15. Clean and sweep outside parking lots as required.
  16. Conduct deep cleans for all public washrooms and facility rooms per assigned schedule.
  17. Ensure the store room remains clean and organized, managing inventory effectively.
  18. Deep clean all cleaning equipment per assigned schedule.

Requirements

  • Grade 12 education or equivalent is mandatory.
  • You must be mature and able to work effectively with seniors.
  • Able to understand and operate various cleaning devices.
  • Bilingual in Chinese (Cantonese or Mandarin) is an asset.

Compensation

This position comes with an estimated annual salary of $45,000 to $55,000 based on your experience and qualifications.
