Project Director Job Description

Kongsberg Geospatial Ltd. is seeking an experienced Project Director to lead a nation-wide deployment in Canada for our Remote Towers Solutions technology.

The successful candidate will work closely with our parent company in Norway to bring cutting-edge technology to Canada to support the NAVCANADA DAATS program.

This is a multi-year project with primary responsibility for management, planning, progress, and reporting.

The Project Director will report into the President and Managing Director of Kongsberg Geospatial Ltd.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage interdisciplinary project teams
  • Own the planning and execution of multiple project activities, including design, implementation, verification, delivery, and support
  • Plan and implement projects with a focus on goals, resources, and risk management
  • Negotiate and follow-up of contracts with customers to ensure mutual understanding and fulfillment
  • Ensure good interaction and communication between all stakeholders involved in the projects' various phases
Requirements:
  • Computer Science, Software, or Systems Engineering degree preferred; or a combination of education and working experience
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in a cross-functional engineering project leadership role
  • Experience working with customers, subcontractors, and vendors in various levels, technical and business relationship engagements
  • Proven experience leading cross-functional teams in the successful execution of large-scale projects
  • Ability to manage and guide multi-year and multi-million dollar projects
  • Knowledge and experience in the design, analysis, integration, and test of mission-critical software systems
  • Strong exposure towards systems engineering, software engineering, and contribution towards technical solution discussions
  • PMP certification would be considered an asset
  • Experience managing a team of project managers would be considered an asset
