Energy Systems Operations Specialist Role

FortisBC is seeking a highly skilled Energy Systems Operations Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Energy Systems Operations group, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our energy systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support Energy Systems Operation Leads/Managers in coordinating and executing special projects, such as asset replacement and repair.
  • Perform regular visual inspections and reporting for on-site FAES assets.
  • Organize access to sites, monitor on-site asset housekeeping requirements, and facilitate preventative maintenance work.
  • Validate work performed by 3rd party contractors to maintain quality.
  • On-site maintenance and storage of documents, spare parts, and other relevant materials.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with customers, contractors, and internal stakeholders.
  • Remain current and knowledgeable about various energy systems, including conventional and alternative systems.
Requirements:
  • Completion of a diploma from an accredited post-secondary institution in a related field, such as Facilities Management or Operations Management.
  • A minimum of two (2) years of related professional experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Certificate in operations management or equivalent experience.
  • Knowledge of direct digital control (DDC) and safety management processes.
  • A valid drivers license and clean driving record.
  • Formal operational and safety training, including First Aid/CPR, H2S Alive, TDG/WHMIS, and Defensive Driving.
