Energy Systems Operations Specialist

FortisBC is seeking a highly skilled Energy Systems Operations Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Energy Systems Operations group, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our energy systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support Energy Systems Operation Leads/Managers in coordinating and executing special projects, such as asset replacement and repair.
- Perform regular visual inspections and reporting for on-site assets.
- Organize access to sites, monitor asset housekeeping requirements, and facilitate preventative maintenance work.
- Validate work performed by 3rd party contractors to maintain quality.
- On-site maintenance and storage of documents, spare parts, and other relevant materials.
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with customers, contractors, and internal stakeholders.
- Remain current and knowledgeable about various energy systems, including HVAC, pumps, fans, motors, and boilers.
Requirements:
- Diploma in a related field such as Facilities Management, Operations Management, Energy Management, or HVAC.
- Minimum 2 years of related professional experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Certificate in operations management or equivalent experience.
- Knowledge of direct digital control (DDC) and safety management processes.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
- Formal operational and safety training, including First Aid/CPR, H2S Alive, TDG/WHMIS, and Defensive Driving.
