Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Team Lead - Reporting to join our team. The successful candidate will lead and manage a team of financial analysts, overseeing month-end accounting, supervising team members, and ensuring adherence to internal controls and corporate policies.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a team of financial analysts, providing guidance, training, and support.
- Supervise month-end accounting, including IFRS 16 and capitalization of internally developed software (IAS 38).
- Approve month-end entries and work cross-functionally with the Real estate team.
- Oversee monthly variance preparation for the Financial Operation team.
- Review preparation of consolidated financial statements.
- Prepare monthly presentations.
- Conduct performance evaluations and develop team members' skills.
- Ensure adherence to internal controls and corporate policies.
- Actively collaborate with cross-functional teams and other departments to collect and analyze financial data for accounting and financial reporting purposes.
- Work closely with the Financial Operation team to ensure timely preparation of monthly financial results.
- Review quarterly and annual complex accounting entries, including Swap, Warrant, goodwill, and stock option.
- Participate in the preparation of quarterly and annual reports, including MD&A and presentation for the Board of directors.
- Oversee the preparation of quarterly and annual reports, including compliance certificates and sustainability reports.
- Actively involved in the end-of-year audit.
- Responsible for the GL creation process and chart of accounts for all entities.
- Actively involved in maintaining and improving controls over financial information, documenting and improving existing processes and procedures.
- Participate in the transformation of the finance function.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in administration or accounting.
- CPA designation or in process (required).
- 4 to 5 years' experience as a financial analyst, with management experience an asset.
- Bilingual (English and French).
- Capable of simplifying operational activities and transposing them into a financial context.
- Flexibility, collaboration, and initiative, leadership.
- Advanced Excel skills, including formulas and language query.
