Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Visual Design and User Experience Strategist to join our team at Bay Street IT Solutions. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced professional to lead a redesign project within Commercial Banking.

About the Role

This is a contract position that will last for 6 months, with the possibility of extension based on performance and business needs. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the project, shaping the look and feel as well as the user experience for the platform.

Key Responsibilities

The ideal candidate will have strong visual design and UX skills, as well as excellent written and verbal communication skills to articulate their design choices clearly when presenting to stakeholders.

Some of the key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Working closely with business analysts, business sponsors, project managers, and IT teams to obtain and understand business requirements.
  • Creating the design of user interface specifications by applying client research, design standards, industry best practices, taking into account strategic business objectives, user needs, and systems constraints.
  • Participating in design review sessions with project teams, acquiring consensus and getting approvals on designs and documentation.
  • Executing business acceptance test cases and testing.
  • Working with project managers to ensure that usability deliverables accommodate project timelines, budgets, technical, and scope constraints.
  • Contributing to the development, maintenance, and continuous improvement of efficient and effective usability methodology/process, documentation, workflow, ROI, metrics, and design standards.
  • Acting as a user experience advocate regarding principles of user experience and user-centered design.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • Experience working with stakeholders and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • A strong portfolio showcasing your work experience, particularly in visual design and UX.
  • Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite, specifically Photoshop.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Nice to Have

While not required, having experience in the financial industry would be beneficial in this role.

Compensation

We offer a competitive salary of $120,000 per year, commensurate with experience, plus benefits and bonuses based on individual and company performance.
