Job Summary

BWXT Canada Ltd. is seeking a highly skilled Shop Supervisor to lead and manage shop personnel in our Cambridge, Ontario location. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our manufacturing processes, while maintaining high standards of quality and productivity.

Key Responsibilities
  • Safety Compliance
    • Conduct regular safety audits and issue work orders to maintenance for any malfunctioning or unsafe machinery.
    • Hold toolbox talks at the beginning of each shift to heighten awareness of safety during the work day.
    • Conduct safe observations through the Dupont Safety Observation Program.
  • Manage Shop Personnel
    • Manage shop personnel according to collective agreement and maintain a professional relationship with employees.
    • Manage attendance, time, and vacation of shop personnel and able to perform manual computer inputting to verify employee statuses.
  • Training and Development
    • Ensure all employees are trained in BWXT's procedures and support quality objectives and safety objectives.
Requirements
  • College Diploma (Technical, Welding Technician, Fitter, Fabricator, etc.)
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel. Experience with SAP is an asset.
