Job Summary

The Shop Supervisor will oversee the day-to-day activities of the shop personnel, ensuring that all company objectives are met in regards to safety, quality, productivity, and cost. This position reports to the Focus Shop Manager, with shop personnel reporting directly to this position.

Key Responsibilities
  • Safety Compliance
    • Conduct regular safety meetings and audits to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
    • Develop and implement safety procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
    • Investigate accidents and incidents, and implement corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence.
  • Schedule Achievement
    • Work with schedulers to achieve daily targets and ensure on-time delivery.
    • Manage shop personnel to achieve productivity goals and optimize resource allocation.
    • Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Manage Shop Personnel
    • Manage attendance, time, and vacation of shop personnel, and ensure accurate record-keeping.
    • Provide coaching and development opportunities to shop personnel to enhance their skills and performance.
    • Address performance issues and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Cost Objectives
    • Monitor production levels and identify opportunities for cost reduction.
    • Develop and implement cost-saving initiatives to optimize resource allocation and reduce waste.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement process improvements.
Requirements
  • College diploma in a relevant field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5-10 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and SAP, with experience in inventory management and supply chain optimization an asset.
