About the Role

Cineplex is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sous Chef to join our team. As a key member of our culinary operations, you will be responsible for coordinating and supervising assigned areas of the kitchen, ensuring high-quality menu execution and service levels.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage culinary staff, including scheduling, training, and performance evaluations.
  • Oversee inventory management, ordering, and supply chain logistics to ensure efficient and cost-effective operations.
  • Develop and implement menu planning, food preparation, and presentation strategies to enhance customer experience.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, sanitation standards, and food safety protocols.
  • Collaborate with the Head Chef and other kitchen staff to achieve operational excellence and drive business growth.
  • Monitor and control food costs, labor expenses, and other operational metrics to optimize profitability.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers, vendors, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless operations.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, and regulatory requirements to continuously improve kitchen operations.

Requirements

  • Post-secondary diploma in Culinary Arts or related field.
  • Minimum 2-5 years of experience in a senior culinary role, preferably in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
  • Proven track record of leadership, team management, and customer service excellence.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with ability to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and time management skills.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
