Job Opportunity Overview
Aecon is seeking a highly skilled TBM - PLC Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for coordinating troubleshooting, repair, and installation of low and high voltage control systems for TBM/STP equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate troubleshooting and repair of TBM/STP control systems to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.
- Assist in maintaining accurate documentation for TBM/STP equipment, including technical specifications and maintenance records.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve operational problems with PLC and related TBM/STP components.
- Coordinate start-ups and operational checkouts of TBM/STP systems, including wiring, calibration, grounding, and power testing.
- Assist in diagnosing electrical or mechanical malfunctions or failures of equipment.
- Ensure all components and support systems comply with industry standards and regulations.
- Assist in repairing and replacing defective components.
Requirements
- Minimum 8 years of relevant working experience in the tunnelling industry.
- Experience with Slurry Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM) (6m diameter) and/or Slurry Treatment Plant (STP) (min 1,200 m3/h).
- Certificate/Diploma/Degree in Electrical Engineering is preferred.
