About the Opportunity

Kirkland Lake Gold Ltd. is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Licensed Electrician to join our Mine Maintenance team at the Macassa Mine. As an integral member of our team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and continuous operation of our underground mining facility.

Responsibilities

  • Install, repair, and maintain electrical systems and equipment, including power distribution, ventilation, and communication systems.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance programs on electrical equipment and record results and findings.
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems and equipment, including power distribution, ventilation, leaky feeder communication, central blast line systems, Jumbos, bolters, and diamond drills.
  • Make changes to electrical systems and record/document changes.
  • Ensure compliance with electrical codes and regulations, including the Ontario Electrical Code and the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
  • Work collaboratively with the centralized maintenance team to ensure seamless maintenance operations.
  • Perform other duties as directed by management.

Qualifications

  • Licensed Electrician (Ontario)
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical prints and diagrams.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Clear understanding of lockouts, high-voltage switching, and electrical safety procedures.
  • Competent use of test equipment, including multimeters, insulation testers, and signal generators.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Understanding of PLC systems and asset management.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
