The Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled Electrical Systems Specialist to join our team at Wajax. As a key member of our mechanical team, you will be responsible for winding, assembling, and installing various types of coils. You will also perform in-shop and field mechanical repairs and electrical testing, ensuring the highest level of quality and safety.

The Role

  • Inspect electro-mechanical equipment for damage and electrical malfunctions, and test windings according to Company procedures and EASA standards.
  • Document all relevant data specific to unit's electro-magnetic characteristics, operating conditions, existing damage, or intended serviceability.
  • Rewind various kinds of electro-mechanical equipment, including single-phase, three-phase, dc fields, armatures, wound rotors, and transformers.
  • Operate specialized repair and testing equipment, including winding machines, test panels, surge testers, core-loss testers, and various handheld power and non-power tools.
  • Participate in and adhere to Wajax's Health and Safety Management System Program and any relevant legislative requirements.

The Candidate

  • Education: Registered EMST Apprentice or equivalent industry experience.
  • Work Experience: 5 years or more experience as a EMST.
  • Knowledge: Weld or braze components, read electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical diagrams, and mentor junior workers.
  • Skills: Self-motivated, calm under pressure, ability to work troubleshoot in a semi-autonomous environment, solid communication skills, and problem-solving ability.
