About the Role

We are currently seeking an experienced Assistant Grocery Manager to join our team. In this role, you will assist the Department Manager in driving business results and ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in retail management, excellent communication skills, and the ability to lead a team to achieve outstanding performance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide exceptional customer service and support the Farm Boy vision of delivering the best fresh shopping experience.
  • Assist in the development of the team by supporting training, coaching, and recognition while maintaining confidentiality and trust.
  • Effectively communicate and support the team with huddles, product knowledge, corporate policies, and procedures, as well as Health and Safety initiatives.
  • Oversee floor operations, including serving customers, merchandising, and rotation, breaks, and general department cleanliness.
  • Support office management tasks, such as completing inventory and orders, invoices, scheduling, and payroll.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A post-secondary education with a focus on business or a related field.
  • A minimum of 1 year of progressively responsible supervisory or management experience in a similar role.
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and analytical skills.
  • A clear and effective communication style, both written and oral.
  • Good judgment and decision-making abilities while interacting with customers and colleagues.
  • The ability to learn manual and automated systems/tools.
  • Skill in working in a fast-paced environment while maintaining priorities and a high level of performance.
Work Environment

This is a dynamic role that requires:

  • Providing service to multiple departments and working under simultaneous deadlines.
  • Standing and walking for extended periods during shifts.
  • Lifting, carrying, or handling heavy objects.
