Job SummaryWe are seeking an experienced Store Operations Director to oversee the day-to-day operations of our stores. This role requires strong leadership and management skills to ensure the highest level of service and quality.
Responsibilities- Provide superior customer service while supporting the company's vision of delivering the best fresh shopping experience.
- Work with senior management to execute strategies aimed at achieving financial results and company goals.
- Develop and implement effective communication plans to lead the team, including one-on-one coaching, huddles, metrics, product knowledge, and corporate policies.
- Recruit, train, and develop high-performing teams, maintaining confidentiality and trust.
- Promote company policy and procedures to ensure compliance.
- Implement health and safety programs and act on recommendations from the Joint Health and Safety Committee.
- Participate in community events and maintain Farm Boy's community presence.
- Oversee retail operations, deliverables (inventory, ordering, item maintenance, quality, rotation, shrink, merchandising, invoicing, scheduling, payroll), and store finances.
- Ensure stores are properly protected, with timely and appropriate opening and closing procedures, responding to emergencies or after-hours alarms.
- Bachelor's degree in business or related field, plus 5-7 years of progressively responsible managerial experience in retail, preferably in the perishable food industry, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Public Health Food Handler certification, Smart Serve, Level A First Aid, and Basic CPR certification or commitment to complete within 6 months.
- Good knowledge of the retail industry, food products, and superior standards of quality.
- Skilled at working in fast-paced environments, maintaining priorities, and high performance.
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and analytical skills.
- Team building and participation skills.
- Able to learn manual and automated systems/tools.
- Experience working with computer software programs, e.g., Microsoft Office.
- Flexible schedule, including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
- Fluency in English and French is an asset.
The estimated salary for this position is $80,000-$100,000 per year, depending on experience.
