Job Title: Insurance Director - Renewable Energy

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Insurance Director to join our team at Innergex Renewable Energy Inc. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of insurance and risk management activities within our company.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive insurance strategy aligned with the company's risk appetite and business objectives;
  • Conduct risk assessments to identify potential risks associated with renewable energy projects, operations, and investments;
  • Collaborate with various departments to implement risk mitigation measures and enhance safety protocols;
  • Manage the insurance budget and provide regular reports to senior management on insurance performance, claims, and risk exposure;
  • Oversee insurance claims processes, working closely with internal stakeholders and insurance carriers to expedite claims resolution;
  • Continuously assess the company's insurance portfolio and coverage needs based on project developments and risk profiles;

Requirements

  • Strong negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with insurance carriers, brokers, and internal stakeholders;
  • Analytical mindset, capable of identifying and assessing complex risks and proposing appropriate solutions;
  • 10 years minimum proven experience as an Insurance Director or similar leadership role in the renewable energy or related industry is an asset;
  • In-depth knowledge of insurance principles, risk management practices, and legal regulations within the renewable energy sector is an asset;
  • Bachelor's degree in Risk Management, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field. An advanced degree or relevant professional certifications are a plus;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite;
