Island Health is seeking a highly skilled Pediatrician to join its multi-disciplinary team in Vancouver Island. As a Developmental Pediatrician, you will play a vital role in providing comprehensive assessments of children, adolescents, and their families referred to the Vancouver Island Children's Assessment Network.

The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting medical and developmental evaluations within an inter-disciplinary team. This includes diagnostic assessments with specialized populations who have experienced trauma or adverse childhood experiences and present with developmental queries such as Intellectual Developmental Disorder, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder, and other neurodevelopmental conditions.

To achieve this, the Pediatrician will work closely with the British Columbia Autism Assessment Network and Complex Developmental and Behavioural Conditions provincial services to provide specialized training and/or support.

The key responsibilities include:

  • Medical evaluation goals: Determine possible medical etiology/etiologies of the disorder, determine possible overlapping, comorbid/concurrent medical conditions, provide a general health profile of the child/youth, determine the need for additional specialty consultations, and make recommendations along with the assessment team regarding interventions, follow-up, and subsequent referrals.
  • Travel on Vancouver Island may be available.

Compensation Package:

We offer a competitive salary range of $250,000 - $300,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications. In addition, you will receive a comprehensive benefits package, including extended health and dental coverage, group life insurance, and a generous retirement plan.
