The Department Sales Manager role at Bass Pro Shops is a key position responsible for driving business growth and developing team members within one or more specialized merchandise departments. As a leader, you will foster world-class customer service and operational delivery by engaging Outfitters in all facets of department operations.

$60,000 - $80,000 per annum

Job Description

The Department Sales Manager leads the growth of the department by developing and implementing sales strategies, managing inventory, and maintaining high-quality customer service standards. They oversee the daily activities of Outfitters, ensuring seamless execution of sales events, merchandising displays, and visual presentations. The GSM also plays a critical role in talent development, recruiting, training, and evaluating team members to meet business objectives.

Responsibilities:


  • Drive revenue growth through strategic planning, effective inventory management, and exceptional customer experience.
  • Lead a high-performing team, fostering a culture of excellence, and promoting employee engagement and development.
  • Develop and execute sales plans, including event calendars, promotions, and price changes, to maximize sales opportunities.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness, safety, and security within the store.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with suppliers, vendors, and partners to drive business growth and improve supply chain efficiency.
  • Analyze sales data and market trends to inform strategic decisions and optimize business outcomes.
  • Other duties as assigned to support the achievement of business objectives.

Required Skills and Qualifications



  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or related field.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of retail management experience with a proven track record of sales growth and team leadership.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong analytical and mathematical skills, with the ability to interpret sales data and make informed decisions.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines.
  • Knowledge of retail systems, including point-of-sale software, inventory management tools, and sales analytics platforms.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Able to lift up to 25 pounds and stand for long periods.
  • Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
