Director, Pharmacy Operations

As a Director, Pharmacy Operations, you will oversee the operations of pharmacies in your respective region. Your role is to coach, develop, and train pharmacy teams and actively drive the success of the pharmacy while ensuring a safe and effective pharmacy practice that provides exceptional patient care.
Key Responsibilities:- Partner with pharmacy teams to share insights into the competitive landscape, including market share, volumes, programs, promotions, and pharmacy talent.
- Monitor and review weekly projections and store labor management processes with the pharmacy manager to ensure proper allocation of hours and task management.
- Execute business initiatives and ensure pharmacies are equipped and prepared to implement, identifying any gaps and reporting back to the program administrator.
- Build relationships and partner with stakeholders, such as district managers and store managers/franchisees, to ensure appropriate knowledge and understanding of business initiatives and important pharmacy items.
- Work closely with the store manager/franchisee/labor relations partner when dealing with disciplinary matters or other matters related to unionized colleagues, leveraging the pharmacy manager to partner with counterparts as appropriate.
- Support new pharmacy manager training and regularly follow up during the applicable probationary period and thereafter to ensure a successful onboarding.
- Promote and support the execution of patient care services and follow up on medication incidents.
- Investigate, understand, review, and identify critical financial metrics, such as labor, inventory, growth opportunities, etc.
- Maintain budget shrink initiatives, manage returns and credits to suppliers, transmittals, inventory, third-party, and detailed follow-up of dispensary operations.
- Ensure compliance with provincial and federal pharmacy regulations as well as standard operating procedures and policies.
- Strive for continuous improvement in sales and script growth and maintain a thorough understanding of the competitive landscape.
- Bachelor of Science, Pharmacy
- 3-7 years of progressive, management-related experience
- Solid understanding of the pharmacy landscape and retail industry
- Operational experience, preferably in multiple locations
- Excellent understanding of store processes
- Strong interpersonal and people management skills; ability to motivate a team
- Demonstrated skills in relationship building and influencing to achieve results
- Strong leadership, coaching, and mentoring skills required
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Regular travel is required, often requiring overnight stays
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, challenging, and constantly changing work environment
