Job Summary:

New Balance is seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Retail Sales Associate to join our team. As a Retail Sales Associate, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, driving sales, and maintaining a high level of product knowledge.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Customer Service:
    • Provide exceptional customer service to all customers, ensuring a positive shopping experience.
    • Use proper selling techniques, product knowledge, and the GUEST service model to assist customers throughout every step of the transaction process.
  • Product Knowledge:
    • Stay up-to-date on product features, benefits, and promotions to effectively communicate with customers.
    • Measure and fit customers with the appropriate New Balance product.
  • Sales and Merchandising:
    • Meet or exceed sales targets by utilizing suggestive selling, multiple selling, and effective closing techniques.
    • Keep the sales floor looking its best, ensuring a neat, organized, and well-stocked environment.
    • Ensure items are labeled and price marked correctly.
  • Store Operations:
    • Follow safety regulations, including proper lifting procedures and timely reporting of all accidents and near misses.
    • Protect company assets by greeting customers, attaching/detaching security tags, monitoring floor merchandise, and reporting shrinkage and security violations.
  • Teamwork and Communication:
    • Collaborate with colleagues to achieve sales goals and maintain a positive work environment.
    • Communicate effectively with customers, colleagues, and management to ensure seamless operations.

Requirements for Success:

  • Strong customer service and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to flourish in a team environment.
  • Familiarity with cash register functions.
  • Ability to quickly perform basic math.
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule that may include weekends and holidays.
  • Ability to lift 4 lbs. frequently, lift maximum 8 lbs. occasionally, kneel or squat frequently, move boxes of product up to 50 lbs (with assistance if necessary), stand for extended periods of time, climb ladders occasionally, and climb and descend stairs frequently (depending on location).
