Mckesson is an impact-driven Fortune 10 company that touches virtually every aspect of healthcare, delivering insights and services that make quality care more accessible and affordable.
We are committed to the health, happiness, and well-being of our team members and those we serve – we truly care.
As a registered nurse in Ambulatory Care at McKesson, you will play a vital role in providing professional nursing care to individuals, including the intravenous or injection administration of biologics or other specialty pharmaceutical products.
Your primary focus will be on promoting patient health by completing health reviews prior to treatment, reviewing patient files, collaborating with physicians and multidisciplinary team members as required, with the end goal of providing medical therapies or self-administration teaching to patients in an ambulatory setting.
You will utilize critical thinking, therapeutic communication, and clinical decision-making skills to assess, plan, implement, educate, and evaluate patients' health situations throughout their treatment therapy.
Key responsibilities include assessing health status using a pre-screening process, insertion of peripheral IV lines, handling and reconstituting biologic medication, identifying patient care requirements, documenting patient care services, and following INVIVA policies and standards of care.
This role requires maintaining knowledge of medical therapies, INVIVA policies, and adhering to Health Canada guidelines for product monographs.
In addition to your core responsibilities, you will participate in training and mentoring new clinic staff, complete training as required by INVIVA on products, services, policies, technology, quality assurance, and communications, and maintain quality, safety, and infection control standards.
With a strong foundation in critical care unit (CCU) or intensive care unit (ICU) experience and oncology expertise, you will thrive in this fast-paced environment.
A rewarding compensation package awaits successful candidates, with an estimated salary range of $110,000 to $140,000 per year, depending on location and experience.
The ideal candidate will possess excellent clinical, nursing, and listening skills, with the ability to work effectively in a computerized environment and collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve corporate goals.
