St.Amant is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Instructional Assistant to join our team at St.Amant School. As an Instructional Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the educational and care needs of our students with developmental disabilities, autism, and acquired brain injury.
Key Responsibilities- Supporting Student Learning
- Work collaboratively with teachers to identify and meet the individual needs of students
- Implement educational programs and provide care to small groups of students
- Building Relationships
- Support students in developing relationships with peers and community members
- Encourage students to explore engagement in community activities
- Team Collaboration
- Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to ensure coordination and integration of services
- Communicate with students' family members or advocates as required
- Continuous Quality Improvement
- Contribute to the ongoing development of the School program
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance student outcomes
- Education and Experience
- Grade XII diploma or equivalent
- One year certificate in a relevant area of study (e.g. Developmental Service Worker Certificate, Early Childhood Education Diploma Program, or Educational Assistant Diploma)
- Skills and Abilities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic work setting
