About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Kitchen Manager to join our team at Golden Life Management Corporation. As a key member of our food services team, you will be responsible for leading our kitchen operations and ensuring the highest standards of food quality, safety, and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage a team of kitchen staff to deliver exceptional food service and maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment.
  • Develop and implement menus that meet the dietary needs and preferences of our residents, while ensuring compliance with food safety and quality standards.
  • Source and purchase high-quality ingredients, manage inventory, and maintain accurate records of food and supply purchases.
  • Collaborate with our community manager to plan and execute special events and catering services that meet the needs of our residents and their families.
  • Ensure that all kitchen staff follow safe food handling practices and maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment.
  • Monitor and control food costs, maintain accurate records, and provide regular reports to management.
  • Develop and implement training programs for kitchen staff to ensure they have the skills and knowledge needed to deliver exceptional food service.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and provide feedback to management on ways to improve our food services.
Requirements
  • High school graduation or equivalent.
  • Chef's papers or catering certification.
  • Able to read and write English.
  • Minimum of two years' experience as the lead cook in an institutional or full-service restaurant.
  • Ability to read and prepare recipes involved.
  • Knowledge and ability to conform to food sanitation practices.
  • Ability to communicate with residents and other employees.
  • Food Safety or other required courses.
  • Previous supervisory experience.
  • Ability to be self-motivated.
  • Clear Vulnerable Sector – Criminal Record Check.
  • Physician's Waiver.
  • Negative TB Screening, Full Immunization Record.
