We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Senior Financial Planning Associate to join our team at ScotiaMcLeod. This is a unique opportunity to leverage your skills and expertise in financial planning to support our wealth advisors in creating comprehensive wealth strategies for clients.

About the Role:

The primary purpose of this role is to provide financial planning that is closely integrated with wealth management, supporting the Wealth Advisor team in laying the groundwork for creating and developing a comprehensive wealth strategy for clients. You will be responsible for preparing and delivering personal financial plans, working closely with advisors to implement recommendations identified in the plan, and contributing to the development and management of the advisor's business through client relationship management and identification of growth opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Champion a customer-focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems, and knowledge.
  • Proactively support the financial planning needs of the Advisor's assigned clients, including a deep discovery with the client to uncover goals and objectives, preparing, presenting the plan, and working with the Advisor to implement the recommendations identified in the plan.
  • Contribute to the ongoing professional practice by participating in monthly Total Wealth Planning calls, collaborating with local Senior Total Wealth Planners and Total Wealth Planning Associates to ensure a consistent product and process is delivered to clients.
Requirements:
  • Licensing: CFP or IQFP is required.
  • Licensed as a Registered Representative with the Canadian Investment Regulatory Organization (CIRO) is considered an asset.
  • College or University degree.
  • In-depth understanding of the comprehensive financial planning process, including investments, asset protection, retirement, estate planning, and tax issues.
  • Experience in Total Wealth Planning engagement from client discovery, plan preparation to presentation delivery.
  • Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
What We Offer:
  • A competitive salary range of $80,000 - $110,000 per year, based on experience.
