Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Construction Maintenance Worker to join our team at Synergy Systems. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for ensuring the upkeep and maintenance of our apartment/condominium complex.

Key Responsibilities
  • Facilities Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance tasks, including sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, and waxing hallways, floors, and stairs.
  • Waste Management: Empty trash cans and other waste containers, and ensure the area is kept clean and tidy.
  • Repairs and Maintenance: Make adjustments and minor repairs to heating, cooling, ventilation, plumbing, and electrical systems, and contact tradespersons for major repairs.
  • Appliance Maintenance: Perform minor repairs on appliances and ensure they are in good working condition.
  • Safety and Security: Perform safety and security checks, and ensure the area is secure and free from hazards.
  • Customer Service: Show apartments and offices to prospective tenants, and provide excellent customer service.
  • Teamwork: Supervise other workers, and work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Physical Demands: Move heavy furniture, equipment, and supplies, and perform other routine maintenance jobs such as painting and drywall repair.
  • Grounds Maintenance: Water and tend to plants, lawns, and/or gardens, and ensure the area is well-maintained.
  • Bathroom Maintenance: Clean and disinfect bathrooms and fixtures, and ensure they are in good working condition.
Support for Diverse Groups
  • Accessibility: Provides awareness training to employees to create a welcoming work environment for persons with disabilities.
  • Newcomers and Refugees: Participates in a government or community program or initiative that supports newcomers and/or refugees.
  • Youth: Provides awareness training to employees to create a welcoming work environment for youth.
  • Veterans: Assists with immediate transition needs of Veterans (for example: relocation, housing, etc.).
  • Mature Workers: Provides workspace accommodations, such as age-appropriate ergonomic considerations, to meet the physical needs of mature workers.
  • Visible Minorities: Provides diversity and cross-cultural training to create a welcoming work environment for members of visible minorities.
Work Environment

Work in a fast-paced environment, with minimal supervision, and be able to work in all weather conditions.

Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years.
  • Language: English.
  • Hours: 30 to 40 hours per week.
