We are seeking a skilled Cabinetmaker to join our team at STARFLEET CONSTRUCTION INC. as a key member of our woodworking department.
Key Responsibilities- Operate a range of woodworking machines, including power saws, jointers, mortisers, and shapers, to cut, shape, and form parts and components.
- Prepare detailed specifications for custom-made cabinets to maximize storage and meet client requirements.
- Shape and finish wood surfaces using hand tools, such as planes, chisels, and wood files.
- Study plans, specifications, and drawings to ensure accurate production of articles.
- Assemble and trim joints to form complete units and reinforce joints.
- Apply varnish, veneer, stain, or polish to finished products, and prepare and apply laminated plastics.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to WHMIS regulations.
- Supervise and mentor junior team members.
- Estimate costs and materials for projects.
- Repair or restyle wooden furniture, fixtures, and related products.
- 5+ years of experience in cabinetmaking or a related field.
- Valid driver's license.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail.
- Manual dexterity and ability to lift up to 23 kg (50 lbs).
- Steel-toed safety boots and other necessary personal protective equipment.
- Excellent organizational and teamwork skills.
This is a permanent, full-time position with a 35-40 hour workweek. The ideal candidate will be able to work in a fast-paced environment with a high level of manual dexterity and attention to detail.
