Cabinetmaker Specialist

At STARFLEET CONSTRUCTION INC., we are seeking a skilled Cabinetmaker Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in woodworking and cabinetmaking, with a minimum of 5 years of experience in the field.

• Operate various woodworking machines, including power saws, jointers, mortisers, and shapers, to cut, shape, and form parts and components.
• Prepare specifications for custom-made cabinets that maximize storage and meet client requirements.
• Shape surfaces or edges of wood workpieces using hand tools, such as planes, chisels, or wood files.
• Study plans, specifications, or drawings of articles to be made, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
• Trim joints and fit parts and subassemblies together to form complete units and reinforce joints.
• Sand wooden surfaces and apply veneer, stain, or polish to finished products, preparing and applying laminated plastics as needed.
• Apply varnish, veneer, stain, or polish to finished products, ensuring a high-quality finish.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to safety protocols and regulations.
• Supervise other workers, providing guidance and support as needed.
• Estimate costs and materials, ensuring accurate budgeting and project planning.
• Repair or restyle wooden furniture, fixtures, and related products, meeting client expectations and deadlines.

• Valid Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate.
• Valid driver's licence.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with manual dexterity and attention to detail.
• Ability to stand for extended periods, with a maximum weight handling capacity of 23 kg (50 lbs).
• Steel-toed safety boots and other necessary personal protective equipment.
• Accurate, organized, and punctual, with excellent teamwork and communication skills.
