About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Cook to join our team at Tomas the Cook / Specklebellys pub. As a key member of our kitchen team, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking complete meals and individual dishes, as well as managing kitchen operations and supervising staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Menu Planning and Preparation: Plan menus and estimate food requirements for special events and daily operations.
  • Cooking and Food Preparation: Prepare and cook complete meals and individual dishes, including special meals for patients and customers with food allergies or intolerances.
  • Kitchen Management: Supervise kitchen staff and helpers, maintain inventory and records of food, supplies, and equipment, and ensure a clean and safe kitchen environment.
  • Staff Training and Development: Train staff in preparation, cooking, and handling of food, as well as order supplies and equipment as needed.
  • Event Planning: Coordinate special events, including buffets and banquets, and ensure that all necessary preparations are made.
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Language: English.
  • Work Term: Permanent.
  • Hours: 40 hours per week.
