Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sous Chef to join our team at HY'S OF CANADA LTD. WINNIPEG-HY'S STEAK LOFT. As a Sous Chef, you will be responsible for maintaining high-quality food standards, supervising kitchen staff, and ensuring efficient kitchen operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate records of food costs, consumption, sales, and inventory.
- Analyze operating costs and other data to optimize kitchen performance.
- Supervise and train kitchen staff, including specialist chefs, chefs, and cooks.
- Develop and implement new cooking techniques and menu ideas.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment.
- Collaborate with the Head Chef to plan menus, manage inventory, and control costs.
- Recruit and hire staff as needed.
- Develop and implement training programs for kitchen staff.
Requirements:
- 3-5 years of experience in a senior culinary role.
- Proven track record of maintaining high-quality food standards and efficient kitchen operations.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and maintain a calm demeanor in a fast-paced environment.
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift heavy objects.
