Job Title: Process Improvement Specialist

Powell is seeking a highly motivated and organized Process Improvement Specialist to join our team in Edmonton. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for identifying and implementing process improvements to increase efficiency and productivity.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support production activities by teaching new associates productivity, quality, and execution of production processes.
  • Implement improvement initiatives assigned to production processes and other initiatives as directed by the Manufacturing Supervisor.
  • Manage time entry, utilization, and training records for shop employees.
  • Update and maintain training documents, operating procedures, and toolboxes.
  • Scan and send documentation to relevant departments.
  • Manage expense items and maintain employee tools and toolboxes records.
  • Support shop employees with programs, processes, and maintenance.
  • Monitor maintenance with outside suppliers and support production areas when needed.
  • Perform administrative programming and data entry tasks.
Requirements:
  • 2-4 years' experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficient with PC's and MS Windows software (Word, Excel, Power Point).
  • Basic command of the English language, both written and verbal.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
Desired Qualifications:
  • Ability to read electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics, and mechanical drawings.
  • Knowledge of practical or documented understanding of department specific tools and equipment.
  • Lean Manufacturing Principles (Yellow Belt).
  • Continuous Improvement Principles.
Working Conditions:
  • Safety sensitive position in a temperature controlled manufacturing or industrial environment with occasional outside activities.
  • Required to wear personnel protective equipment at all times.
  • Must be able to work from all types of ladders and scaffolding.
Physical Requirements:
  • Able to maintain body equilibrium and agility to prevent falling.
  • Bending, standing, walking, and climbing stairs frequently.
  • Using upper extremities to apply or exert a force continuously up to 50lbs.
